...it is from that hour that I incline to date my Spiritual New-birth, or Baphometic Fire-baptism; perhaps I directly thereupon began to be a Pig.

The Pigs Rejoice

Maude and Bessie have a very important announcement to make.
After years of wallowing in their own sin, Maude and Bessie's people have decided to make their first tentative steps towards respectability and heteronormativity: they got engaged last week!
Here is a picture of the beautiful ring, it's a 1930's art deco antique with sapphires. Maude is especially fond of saphhires.
Soon to be Mr. and Mrs. PigBlogMistress! (Just kidding -- no Mrs. anything for me, thank you very much.)

Belt Buckle Bessie

Yet another fashionable piggie pose. They are just so hip and stylish. The insouciance! The nonchalance! Like a much fatter version of the Olsen twins, really.

A word from Professor Skipowicz

Hello loyal PigBlog readers. I'm happy to come before you once again with a little news item from my native Bolivia. It seems some politicians in that country would like schoolchildren to eat coca leaves because they are nutritious (a good source of calcium, and, of course, cocaine.) I agree wholeheartedly with this, and would like to suggest that guinea pigs start being fed coca leaves. Bessie and I are more than willing to be test subjects (don't say it) for such a program. It could be subsidized by our people, and they could feed us tasty coca leaves for, say, a month, and see how much healthier we get. Yes! Yes! And What Not!
As always, thank you for your attention.
Sincerely,
Dr. Maude T. Skipowicz, Ph.D., K.C.B., O.B.E.

It's been so long!

Here's another one of those entries where I apologize for the total lack of updates in the last week or so. My goodness! I can't believe I missed my chance to do a little something for groundhog day... but, as you might expect, it's been busy. Teaching a course for the first time is really a full-time job. As is marking for another class, sleeping, getting over 2006 cold #2, and working on my dissertation research... oh, and occasionally spending time with Monst.
I'm posting some pictures from the piggies' outing this evening. Maude's butt was about as dirty as I've ever seen it today -- her hair seems to have gotten too long all of a sudden -- so I had to wash, blow-dry and trim said butt tonight. Rather than washing and blow-drying my own hair! Maudie loves the pats. (Funny guinea voice): "Oh! That's so nice!"
Bessie loves the pats. (Gruff Brooklyn accent): Yeah! Oh yeah!
Cookie Monster voice: "Grrrrrr! Dandelions!!!! Arrrrr! They're my faaaaavoriiiiiite! Graaaaaamscraaaamnyammm!"
